Messer Cutting Systems is part of the Messer Investment Holding under the management of the Messer family. 73 per cent of shares in the Messer Invetsment Holding are owned by Stefan Messer and other family members, 27 per cent are held by the non-profit-making Adolf Messer Foundation. The foundation, which promotes science and research, was established in 1978 in memory of Adolf Messer, who founded the Messer company in Frankfurt/Main in 1898.
Under the umbrella brand "Messer World", the Messer Group (Messer) and Messer Investment Holding present themselves as parts of the "Messer World" company group.
