Experience the future of cutting today

09/24/2019

Groß-Umstadt, 24. September 2019. Digital processes, networked machines, automated production — in many places this has already arrived and will, in future, make the decisive competitive difference. That this is mostly the result of fruitful cooperation is impressively demonstrated by Messer Cutting Systems GmbH from the 23rd to 25th of October 2019 at its

three day international knowledge forum on the topic of metal processing in the future.

The European centre of Messer Cutting Systems GmbH in Groß-Umstadt will become the nucleus of tomorrow’s metal processing from the 23rd to 25th of October 2019. There the cutting experts with technology partners such as Kjellberg, Hypertherm, Beuting and Remmert as well as colleagues from the Messer Group, Messer Industrial Gasses, Spectron and Castolin will demonstrate during the Technology Days where the journey in matters of digitalisation, networking and automation is heading. Workshops, live demos and lectures from branch experts round out the entire programme.

A World premiere sets benchmarks

“What we will unveil at our Technology Days are no marginal changes in equipment design: this time we have created a completely new concept which represents nothing less than a milestone for our future generation of cutting solutions”, reveals Oliver Friz, Managing Director of Messer Cutting Systems GmbH in Groß-Umstadt. The external view already betrays what has been completed internally. “Open and modern in design and from a technical side, the newest technology. In this way we can fulfil the individual requirements of every customer on a modern production system – made to measure!” The new machine generation will be presented for the first time Worldwide at the Technology Days.

At Messer, we no longer think purely in terms of Machines or plant, rather the cutting experts see efficient metal processing as a harmonised mosaic. The individual components comprise the machine with the appropriate cutting technology, the customised software solution and automation combined with close connection to existing ERP systems. “The result should be a composition which rewards the user with the highest efficiency. Indeed it should also enable the objective evaluation of the total productivity through the evaluated data and, if necessary, facilitate appropriate corrective measures to keep production at the highest level at all times. Gut feelings were yesterday, qualified data opens up an enormous optimisation potential for most companies” according to Oliver Friz.

Who progresses networking survives

One of the essential innovations is the new Global Control: If previous versions were already technically highly advanced, Messer has now taken a step further. “We have packed into it the fully fledged production sequence from initial order, through the production process, right up to quality assurance. At the same time we have succeeded in making the Human Machine Interface even more user-friendly so that the additional features also remain clearly structured and understandable”, explains Oliver Friz.

All data to hand

Anybody who, for example using a tablet, can check real time data about maintenance status, down time, or production progress, has all data to hand. “The close connection of ERP systems and the CAD/CAM solution of our cutting systems make it easier for the user to increase productivity through a gain in transparency. In addition we have combined some options in the Technology Days of how automation, best possible production utilisation of capacity and material utilisation can combine to increase efficiency massively”, states Oliver Friz. This includes, of course, the up-time reliability of the cutting solution. There Messer customers have, allegorically, the future right in front of their eyes: Using remote glasses and a corresponding App, many service questions can be clarified in real time, without the need for an on-site visit from a technician.

Technology forum with vision

Messer Cutting Systems has crafted a comprehensive total package for metal processing with its Technology Days. “We are looking forward to presenting our new machine concept to the public for the first time. Equally we want to demonstrate how we, with our customers, our technology partners and our colleagues from the Messer Group are always working together to take a step forward on the production of tomorrow. In the three days the visitors will in any case be presented with unique technology ‘at their fingertips’ and this will certainly make the way to an efficient future somewhat easier”, summarises Oliver Friz.
